The World Ocean Observatory is a community advocating for the health and sustainability of the ocean by providing a network of worldwide information. Specifically, W₂O  hosts World Ocean Radio, a weekly series of five-minute audio essays on ocean issues, along with other information resources online. W₂O recently launched an updated version of its World Ocean Forum.

The forum is hosted on the blogging platform Medium and publishes a variety of articles on a range of ocean topics. It currently features an art installation in Scotland that shows sea level rise by marking buildings with projected water levels.
